Safe-T-Stopper® Overview

Basic Principle of Operation

Once the tool has been mounted above the service tee branch and secured in place, a 1/4" turn ball valve allows for pressure containment and release as well as providing the attachment for the cap/plug removal tool and the expandable plug setting tool. Once the expandable plug has been set in place, the tee connection can be cut off and completion plug installed, or the service tee connection can be returned to service by removing the expandable plug and reinstalling the threaded connection cap or plug.

Safe-T-Stopper® is available to stop or remove 3/4" to 2" manufactured street tees threaded onto cast iron or steel mains.

If replacing a faulty full port valve, once the expandable plug has been set, disengaged from the plug setter, and the tool removed, the valve can be replaced with a new one and the tool reinstalled to retrieve the expandable plug.

All tool attachments are hand installed with no need for tools. Only one small hand wrench is required to tighten two packing retainer nuts.

Current Tool Sizes

The Safe-T-Stopper® is available for use on 3/4" to 2" service tee connections with any size branch. The Safe-T-Stopper® is designed considering a malleable iron closure cap or plugs typically found on open gut homemade service tees as well as other manufactured tees. (Bannister, TDW, manufactured street tees etc.) Contact your Safe-T-Stopper supplier to discuss alternate sizes, cap or plug configuration, and application of service.

Safe-T-Stopper® is available to stop and remove 3/4", 1" and 1 1/4" Mueller No-Blo H17500 service tees with or without the brass completion plugs.

Safe-T-Stopper® is available to stop or remove 3/4" to 2" manufactured street tees threaded onto cast iron or steel mains.

Working Pressure

Safe-T-Stopper® is designed to operate at a maximum of 550 kPa ( 80 psi ) and by technicians trained in the proper application, operation, and care of the Safe-T-Stopper® tool.

Some service tee removal attachments are limited to lower pressures. Consult Safe-T-Stopper® supplier for maximum operating pressures for certain applications.

Limited Warranty

Mazco Products & Services warrants it's products to be free of workmanship and material defects for a period of one year under normal operating conditions and when used for purposes of intended service. Any product concerns are to be directed to the product supplier.
